When the Delta Gamma Foundation headquarters sought to outfit their new offices, they needed more than standard furniture—they needed custom solutions that reflected their commitment to service, vision and impact. We were thrilled to fabricate a mixture of furniture; including a show stopping conference table, collaboration tables, ancillary office furniture and comfortable tables for their kitchen and break room. "We wanted to create an environment that reflected who we are today, a modern organization with an equally remote and on-site team who is also hybrid. Our goal was to make the office feel multifunctional, professional, engaging, and timeless," Tracy, Executive Director of Delta Gamma shares.
The final result of this space was a product of the incredible project team that coordinated all the details. Shyft Collective led the design and was also the Owners Rep on the project while collaborating with Dupler to finalize the design and furniture layout. Let's take a look at the finished spaces we built furniture for!
Building the Core of the Workspace
The conference table is the heart of the office and required the most customization and careful consideration. The final result is a testament to the true collaborative approach by the entire project team. Some of the challenges were:
- The sheer size- how do we get it in the room? It is 20' long and 5' wide!
- How do we keep it feeling feminine?
- Incorporating power in a subtle but practical way
Drawing inspiration from the anchor of the Delta Gamma logo, the process of creating a soft and feminine, while extremely large, conference table began. "One of the most unique challenges we faced was finding a way to integrate power access into the conference table, which was designed with a solid surface. This requirement was critical for the functionality of the boardroom, but typical solutions risked disrupting the table’s clean lines and elegant aesthetic. Thanks to Edgework Creative’s ingenuity, we were able to incorporate a practical, hidden power solution seamlessly into the perimeter of the table," the Dupler team shared.
"For the board room specifically, we wanted it to feel like the heart of the organization, a space where important decisions are made and meaningful conversations happen. The transformation centered around creating a table that matched that sense of purpose: something strong and beautiful that invites people to sit down and talk, not just meet," Tracey shared.
Undermounted power creates a sleek look but a functional use for the guests.
"If it looks simple, it probably wasn't."
At the front of the conference room is a custom media credenza. Slatted doors allows for airflow and cooling to the equipment housed inside the doors. The finish of the credenza is the same as the base of the conference table. Adjustable shelves inside the doors and the center shelving allows for the furniture to store and display different sized items.
Creating Collaboration Tables
Creating a space for collaboration, connection and flexible work space was an important part of the new office design. Our team built these waterfall style bar height tables for their downstairs collaboration room- perfect for a seated work session or standing height if you need the option!
Breakroom
Your break room doesn't need to be boring! Our Mast dining tables are the perfect solution for break rooms and public dining areas. And when your space is this nice it creates additional flexible work space or collaboration areas. "The new spaces invite collaboration in a way that feels effortless. Meetings are more engaging, conversations flow more naturally, and there’s a shared sense of pride in where we work," Tracey says.
Ancillary Office Desks + Furniture
Since the Delta Gamma team is both hybrid and remote, having additional office space and desks throughout offers the most flexibility for the team. We built waterfall desks that tie back to the community tables and create a through-line to all of the furniture in the office. This style is one of our most popular desks.
A Lasting Partnership Built on Trust
"We look for partners who are reliable, communicate well, and can solve problems with us. Flexibility is key, especially for unique projects," the Dupler team shared. "Our teams worked closely together, communicating openly and checking in regularly to keep the
project on track." We agree! A clear vision and collaborative team make projects like these happen. Our team enjoys being a part of solving problems and creating one of a kind furniture.
