What a year! We've had so much fun, stretched ourselves, learned and worked with amazing people. Our work is our passion- we create furniture with feeling, build spaces that tell stories, and have a really hard time saying no to wild ideas. There were so many incredible projects and it was hard to whittle the list down to just 10, but here they are, in no particular order- that would be like having a favorite child!
The Stairway to Heaven
This new build home in Upper Arlington by Gino Fantozzi Home Builders and interior design by Adrienne at Black Ink, is a stunner. We worked with Adrienne and custom home builder Gino on the design and installation. The staircase is both massive and refined and the floating elm treads really steal the show. We love that the homeowners chose a wall of glass so you can see the entire staircase without any visual obstruction from the entire first floor.
A Showstopper Bed
This king sized platform bed, headboard and nightstands are made from walnut and include a decorative and geometric headboard with seamless lighting and technology integration in the nightstands. We built 7 custom pieces for this Bexley new build and you can get a full home tour and see all of the other pieces on our blog.
Office Design Dreams
There is a lot of talk about office design lately, so you know a project is high design when the folks at Design Milk feature it. It's that good. We partnered with GRA+D on this office build in the Van Aken District of Cleveland, OH and it will probably be a highlight project for years. See inside the entire office and all the pieces we built for the space over on our blog because it is too good to choose just a few photos to share here.
A Sleek + Scandinavian Inspired Dining Table
Scandinavian design is characterized by simplicity, minimalism and functionality. This table has those qualities in spades. It's so good in fact, that we've added it to our Feel Good Furniture Line and you can now order it online- available in 4 sizes. Meet the Lumi Table.
The Perfect Porch Swing
Thinking about all we've accomplished in 2019 makes us want a nap- this porch swing is the perfect place for one. We've worked with Paul + Jo on many tables, mantles and mirrors, but this porch swing was a first! It offers the perfect place to relax after a long day and is made of white oak and finished with custom cushions. We are already looking forward to spring!
A Clean + Modern Bathroom Vanity
“Buying a home is no small investment, and people would see right through a prefabricated Wayfair vanity. Custom elevates the property to make it stand out; it raises the bar. They’re not just functional and practical; they’re beautiful custom pieces that anchor the home and give it personality and character,” Josh Myers shares about this master bathroom vanity for his Myers Property Solutions new build home in Italian Village.
Pelotonia HQ2
We spend 1/3 of our lives at work and there is an increasing number of research studies about the effects of our office environments. We're excited about this workplace revolution. Take a look inside the new Pelotonia HQ at Gravity. We built a community break room table, kitchen table, stadium seating (with storage) and a massive (over 20ft tall) slatted wall. What we are most excited about, is the work Pelotonia is doing to help end cancer.
The Launch of our Feel Good Furniture Line
We believe in a world filled with furniture made by passionate people, from quality materials and designed to tell a story. We call that feel good furniture (n): products made by real people for real life. We aim to play an active part in creating a space for handcrafted furniture in the modern world. We want handcrafted furniture to be found in every home and the experience of space to be derived from the quality of what fills it — from the company we keep to the furniture we own. You can shop the entire collection on our website! Stay tuned for more pieces in 2020.
A Drool-worthy Custom Closet
Debbie was inspired by the retail fixtures we built for Truluck Boutique in New Albany. "I love to see beautiful clothes all around me, and the particular space felt shop-able and cool," Debbie shared. We helped design the space to fit her needs and existing room. There is ample hanging storage, plenty of shelves to display shoes, bags and accessories and then a mix of drawers and a bench to sit on. We personally love the brass hang bars- a simple and elevated look! Head to our blog to see the rest of the pieces we created for this home.
An Executive Desk to Run the World
The Brax Walnut Desk leaves an impression. This desktop is constructed of heavily figured Walnut with a crisp undercut and features 10 handset brass inlays and brass detailing throughout. We built this table for the Designer Showcase hosted at the Columbus Museum of Art in the spring. The desk was the focal point of the the study designed by Beginning in the Middle.
Looking into 2020
The end of a year brings such an important time for reflection and thanks. We are forever grateful for the opportunity to build meaningful and quality furniture for your homes, businesses, offices and beyond. As we look forward to 2020 and plan for another incredible year; we feel excited, optimistic and grateful. We are only just getting started.
