What is Live Edge?
This Table Talk feature is the perfect example of a live edge dining table with a healthy dose of #edgeworkstyle. "Live edge", "living edge", or "natural edge" is achieved when the organic shape of the tree is left intact during the milling and fabrication process. Selecting a live edge table for your home is a great way to showcase the natural beauty of solid wood, and ensures that your table is 100% unique to you.
We were thrilled that our custom clients, the Harpers, chose to further personalize the look of their table with our in-house stain, Arctic, and a custom metal table base in a Black Chrome powder-coat. The finished result is, sleek, modern and breathtaking — quickly becoming an Edgework Creative favorite.
What was the first meal you shared at your table?
The first meal we had at our new table was a takeout pizza, but our favorite meal so far is always our Sunday night tradition — make your own pasta bar! Obviously, we love Italian 🤗.
What was your inspiration for the style and design of your table?
Modern with clean lines. At first we didn't see eye-to-eye on the finish, but in the end, we worked it out! We both love the table and how it turned out; we wanted something different and unexpected. The Arctic finish on the Ash top goes perfectly with the neutral tones of our home.
How does your table fit into your life?
We wanted this table to feel comfortable, yet eyecatching. It’s the real focal point of our kitchen, and we wanted a table that everyone would WANT to gather around. It easily seats 8 people, which is perfect for holidays and large gatherings!
What’s your favorite thing about your custom table?
Our favorite thing about this table is the live edge, and how long the table is (8 ft 😎). It has loads of character and that "wow factor" we were hoping for.
Was the investment in a custom dining table worth it? Would you do it again?
Yes, 100 percent we would invest in custom again; it's so worth it! We were able to create the perfect table — one that checked all of our boxes. Plus it’s one of a kind and completely unique to us.
