When the Blowout Bar decided to relocate their Dublin salon, it provided them the opportunity to update the look and feel of the salon. "Just like hair, trends change and we love keeping up with new designs. We had been in the old space for almost 9 years, so it was time for a different look and feel," co-founder Kristin shares. Our team helped build many of the components throughout the salon and worked alongside a talented team. Take a look at the inspiring new space and all the details that make it so special.
Salon Stations
The focal point of the salon is the arched backlit mirror salon stations. Featuring all the details needed for a great customer experience and for the stylists working space. The hair stations feature double sided work stations with backlit mirrors, TV frames, custom drawers and a clean countertop surface and contained space for all the products the stylist use.
The team at Design Collective designed the space and Kat shared her favorite detail of the salon. "We wanted the highlight of the blowout process to also be the design highlight, we are obsessed with the main salon bar!"
Each stylist station features custom drawers and cabinetry for tools and storage, with integrated electrical to keep the salon stations looking neat and tidy.
The Blowout Bar always has a fun and light movie playing in the salon for clients to enjoy while being pampered. Check out the little details that we built in these TV frames, featuring a custom frame for the TV and hidden cords and a small shelf for the remote to hide and still be accessible.
Supporting all of the TV's are custom metal fixtures our team built that also double as a place for the stylists to have access to the Kevin Murphy styling products.
Behind the Build of these arched mirrors. Drew on our team built them all and shares "the mirror units were intricately assembled from white oak frames and kerfed elements to house the two mirrors as well as the electrical components."
The Blowout Bar also offers makeup appointments. With two side by side stations, the makeup stations feature the same design as the hair stations but with a higher countertop height at 42" high and plenty of storage in the cabinetry below.
Shampoo Room
Perhaps the highlight of any salon experience is the shampoo! The team at Design Collective did a little recon before finalizing the design to understand the client experience, very smart 😉. Kat from Design Collective said "it felt great to be pampered by their professionals – we particularly enjoyed the relaxing scalp massages just before the blowout. We knew we had to focus on enhancing that feeling by designing a space that felt just as special and relaxing." With a dedicated room away from the main salon, the shampoo room feels thoughtful, relaxing and special.
Our team built the accent wall with textured paneling and steel frames, as well as, the cabinetry behind the shampoo bowls.
Reception Area
What's that saying, "you never get a second chance to make a first impression"? The Blowout Bar makes a perfect impression when you walk in the door with a custom reception desk and ceiling mounted plant shelf, built by us.
Our team built the drink station cabinetry and the retail shelving and cabinetry to tie the reception area to the salon area.
Ready to book your blowout appointment? Kristin recommends "the Classic, it's the OG and you can't go wrong."
Projects like this require an in sync team, strong communication and a great vision. This project had all of this in spades. "This was such a fun project for us to work on at Design Collective – the whole team was so great to work with and we really got full collaboration with everyone involved. Edgework Creative and Yaeger Construction delivered every small detail so beautifully," shares Kat.
Special shoutout to the team behind the magic of this new location:
